Hachette Livre announces new appointments

Following the appointment of Fabrice Bakhouche, Secretary General and Chief Financial Officer, to the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Hachette Livre on March 29th, the Hachette Livre group has made several further appointments: Nathalie Houël has been appointed Group Chief Financial Officer, Arnaud Robert has been appointed Group Secretary General and Juliane Chevallier has been appointed Internal Audit and Internal Control Director. Kévin Lopez replaces Nathalie Houël as Group Chief Controller.
- Nathalie Houël, previously Deputy Secretary General and Group Chief Controller for the Hachette Livre group, has been appointed Group Chief Financial Officer. As such, she will be responsible for the Accounts Department, the Consolidation Department, the Treasury and Finance Department, the Management Control Department and mergers and acquisitions. She will also oversee the project management team in charge of IT transformation within the finance function. Nathalie Houël remains a member of the French Executive Management Board.
- Arnaud Robert, previously Group General Counsel and Institutional Relations Director, has been appointed Group Secretary General. He will be responsible for all legal matters, compliance, insurance and institutional relations. He will also head up the coordination between the international legal departments at Hachette Livre. Arnaud Robert remains a member of the French Executive Management Board.
- Juliane Chevallier, previously Head of Internal Audit, has been appointed Internal Audit and Internal Control Director.
Nathalie Houël, Arnaud Robert and Juliane Chevallier will report to Fabrice Bakhouche.
As part of these appointments, Kevin Lopez, previously Head of Central Management Control, has been appointed Group Chief Controller, replacing Nathalie Houël, to whom he will report.
These appointments take effect immediately.
Biographies
Nathalie Houël, born in 1976, is a graduate of ESCP Europe. She began her career in auditing at PricewaterhouseCoopers before joining the Lagardère group in 2001. At Lagardère Active, she held various financial positions before being appointed Corporate Finance Director. In 2011, she joined the group’s headquarters as Lagardère Group Management Control Director. At the end of 2018, Nathalie Houël joined Hachette Livre as Deputy Secretary General and Group Chief Controller.
Arnaud Robert, born in 1972, is a graduate of the Paris Bar School (EFB) and holds a postgraduate degree in European Business Law from the Paris II Panthéon-Assas University. He was a member of the Paris Bar from 1998 to 2001 before joining the NRJ group in 2001, where he later became Associate General Counsel. He joined the Hachette Livre group in 2011 as Group General Counsel, and was appointed Group General Counsel and Institutional Relations Director in 2017. Arnaud Robert has been President of the French Publishers Association Legal Committee since September 2016 and President of SOFIA since September 2019.
Juliane Chevallier, born in 1982, is a graduate of Lyon Management School. She started her career in consulting at Protiviti and then worked as an internal auditor at AstraZeneca, before joining Hachette Livre in 2010 as Head of Internal Audit.
Kevin Lopez, born in 1989, is a graduate of emlyon business school. He started his career in 2013 with the Lagardère group, in the internal audit department, before joining the group’s finance department as a management controller. He joined Hachette Livre in 2019 as a Central Management Controller and was appointed Head of Central Management Control in 2020.
