Cancellation of a portion of the treasury shares held by Lagardère SCA

The Managing Partners of Lagardère SCA have today decided to cancel 8,561,474 shares, representing 6% of the current share capital.

The share capital is thereby reduced from €870,416,509.10 to €818,191,517.70, and is now divided into 134,129,757 shares with a par value of €6.10. The total number of shares outstanding prior to this cancellation of treasury shares was 142,691,231.

The difference between the carrying amount of the cancelled shares and their aggregate par value, amounting to €437.4m, is being offset against share premium.

After this cancellation, the number of treasury shares held directly or indirectly by Lagardère SCA will be just 1,142,482, or 0.85% of the share capital.

The Lagardère Group is a market leader in the media sector (books, distribution of cultural products, press, audiovisual, and sports content). The Group also has interests in the high technology sector via a 14.98% stake in EADS.
