Constance Benqué, elected President of the SIRRP

Constance Benqué, Vice-President of Europe Régies, has been elected President of the SIRRP (Independent Union of Private Radio Stations).

Constance Benqué succeeds Mr Pierre-Jean Bozo, Managing Director of the NRJ Group and Chairman of NRJ Régies. The latter took over as SIRRP President at the end of November, following the departure of Mr Alain Weill.

Born in July 1960, Constance Benqué is a graduate of the IEP in Paris (Institue of Political Studies) and holder of a post-graduate diploma in marketing and PR. A former parliamentary assistant, she joined the advertising department of the Expansion group in 1983, before being appointed deputy advertising director and then advertising director.
In October 1991 she joined the Prisma Press group to take on the post of advertising director of Capital.
Then, from January 1994 to July 1999, she was appointed managing director of Régie Obs, which markets 3 magazines: Le Nouvel Observateur, Challenges and Sciences & Avenir. From September 1996 to July 1998, she was also a committee member of the National Advertising Union (PRESSPACE) and was a Board member until July 1999.
Since August 1999, Constance Benqué has been Vice-Chairman of Europe Régies (Lagardère Active Publicité).

SIRRP, set up in 1992, represents IP France, NRJ Régies and Europe Régies. Its purpose is to study and defend the general, moral and material interests of its members, to develop good fraternal links of courtesy and solidarity between its members and to uphold their professional code of ethics.

Constance Benqué will pursue the issues that the SIRRP is handling, including Radioscan, Traffic Media and Visual Transfer. Furthermore, following the success of the first Grand Prix Radio, the SIRRP has decided to hold the event every year. Other projects to promote the medium of radio are in the pipeline.
