A new magazine to help readers understand the continuing rise of the Asia-Pacific region
With ChinePlus, available at newsstands on 16 November, Hachette Filipacchi Médias is launching a new magazine dedicated to China. The magazine, whose editor-in-chief is Madeleine Barbier, will focus on two key areas:
- The economy, to explain the development of the Chinese economic situation and to provide all the information readers need in order to plan for future changes.
- Culture, to throw light on our dialogue with the Chinese and spark a desire to go out and encounter them.
HFM has had a presence in China for 18 years with seven magazines, including ELLE, Car & Driver, Marie Claire and more recently Psychologies Magazine, and has developed a network of key sources so that it’s always ahead of the game on upcoming events. The aim of ChinePlus is to go one step further by launching the only economic newsmagazine that’s entirely devoted to a region whose development is in full swing: between now and 2010, China looks set to become the world’s third-largest economy (source: IMF), and the whole Asia-Pacific region will be essential to our future.
ChinePlus is aimed at decision-makers and top-level executives who are often directly involved in international affairs and are also passionate about China. The magazine will offer a summary of the current economic situation and future prospects through news updates, sectoral analyses, economic indicators, reports and exclusive interviews, and will set out to get to know this great civilization as it enters a period of transition.
In launching ChinePlus, we wanted to create a space, once per quarter, where information, experiences and slices of life could be analyzed and put into perspective, so that what really matters can be heard above the background noise.
ChinePlus will be published quarterly, with a cover price of €5, and will have a print run of 50,000 copies.
The launch will be supported by a major promotional campaign via the HFM group’s main titles.
The magazine will be published in a 21.5 x 27 cm, square-bound format with a total of 140 pages.
