Appointment of Fabrice A. PLAQUEVENT

Fabrice A. Plaquevent

, 43, the former Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Disney France, has just joined the Hachette Filipacchi Médias group as Managing Director for New Media and Licensing.

Mr. Plaquevent will report to Jean-Paul Denfert Rochereau for international business and to Anne Marie Couderc for French business.

In his role as Managing Director for New Media, Mr. Plaquevent will be responsible for the international development of the HFM group’s Internet sites.

He will also be responsible for licensing activities (in particular for items bearing the ELLE brand logo), an activity that currently accounts for a total annual turnover¹ of FRF 2.7 billion, 85% in the Asia Pacific region.

The aim of the HFM group today is to extend this activity to countries where the brand already has a presence through its 34 editions of ELLE, in particular to the USA and Europe. .

BIOGRAPHY OF FABRICE A. PLAQUEVENT

Fabrice A. Plaquevent is 43 years of age, married, has two children and holds a master’s degree in management and economics from the Sorbonne University in Paris (class of 1981). He began his career in youth programmes for television and then moved to the Disney group (The Walt Disney Company France), where he held various positions over a period of approximately fifteen years. He occupied the position of Commercial and Licensing Director from 1986 to 1995 before being appointed Managing Director in 1995 and Assistant Chief Executive Officer in 1997.

He left the Disney group in early 2000 to take up the role of Managing Director of the company Kazibao, an Internet site aimed at teenagers, which he floated on the stock exchange before being appointed Chief Executive Officer. He held this post until March 2001, when he left the company in order to join the HFM group in May.
