Newsweb reshuffles both its Supervisory and its Executive board

Newsweb, a company acquired by Lagardère Active at the close of 2006 continued to expand in 2008. As an editor of leading sites in the field of sports, stock exchange and automotive news, Newsweb has recorded stellar audience figures for its main sites: Sports.fr Network = 1.9 million Unique Visitors VU; BOURSIER.COM = 1.8 million Unique Visitors, leJDD.fr= 1.3 million Unique Visitors (source Nielsen NetRatings October).

According to Julien Billot, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and CEO Digital and New Business of Lagardère Active : « 2009 will be a year where Newsweb intends to consolidate its theme portfolio while expanding existing sites and strengthening cooperation with Europe1 or Paris Match. »

Following the departure of top executives at the end of 2008, Newsweb has decided to introduce changes in its governance mechanism to take better account of these new developments

• Alexandre Bompard, CEO of Europe1, is to join Newsweb’s supervisory board as Vice President.
• Emmanuel Vacher, Senior Vice President Marketing & Sales for Lagardère Active Digital is hereby appointed Chairman of the executive board.
