Alexandre Bompard is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Europe 1 and Europe 1 Sport

In the wake of Jean-Pierre Elkabbach’s appointment at the head of Lagardère News, Didier Quillot announces the nomination of Alexandre Bompard as CEO of Europe 1 and Europe 1 Sport.

He will be tasked, among other things, with turning around the station and increasing its audience as well as ensuring Europe 1’s transformation into a global medium. In addition, he is to implement a far-ranging editorial and marketing development program in order to bolster the status of Europe 1 as a medium of record across all generations. His experience as a top executive in a prestigious audiovisual group and his dynamism in the management of large teams of journalists will prove to be invaluable.

Alexandre Bompard will be reporting directly to Didier Quillot and will sit on Lagardère Active’s Executive Committee.

Alexandre Bompard will take up his post in the coming weeks.
