Claude Askolovitch appointed editor-in-chief of JDD

Christian de Villeneuve, Managing Editor of the Journal du Dimanche, announces the appointment of Claude Askolovitch as Editor-in-Chief. Following the arrival of Jay Olivier as Deputy Managing Director, this hiring strengthens the management team of the Journal du Dimanche.
The appointment takes effect today.

Claude Askolovitch will also, starting from today, set the editorial policy of Europe 1, each morning at 7:50.

Claude Askolovitch, 45, began his career at RFO, before moving to the Matin de Paris as a sports journalist. In 1987, he worked for the daily Le Sport, before joining Europe 1, followed by a position as a reporter for L’Evénement du Jeudi and subsequently Marianne. Since 2001, Claude Askolovitch had been a senior reporter for the Nouvel Observateur.

Claude Askolovitch is a graduate of the Centre de Formation des Journalistes (Journalists’ Training Centre).
