The first Chinese Cultural Concept Store opened its doors on January 29th, 2007.

HDS Group’s first Chinese Cultural Concept Store, DYNASTY BOOKS, opened its doors in Terminal 2 at Hong Kong International Airport on January 29th, 2007.

As the international hub for air traffic in Asia-Pacific, Hong Kong is also a meeting place between East and West – hence the idea of opening a cultural bookstore in Hong Kong International Airport, the gateway to China. We had established that there was a demand for books and items related to Chinese culture from visitors departing from Hong Kong, most of whom wished to buy a keepsake of their visit for family and friends.

Our store design and unique range of products gives customers a personal experience of Chinese culture. With a surface area of 100 square meters, we sell a wide range of titles, including more than 280 books and associated items related to Asian culture across subjects such as Feng Shui, Antiques, Painting, Calligraphy, Food & Design as well as a selection of Japanese and Korean cultural interest titles.

As is customary, we also have fiction, non-fiction, business, art and design, brand titles, home & design, fashion, bestsellers and new release titles in the magazine section.
