Laurent Guimier appointed Managing Editor of Europe 1

Alexandre Bompard, Chairman and CEO of Europe 1 and Europe 1 Sport, today appointed Laurent Guimier as Managing Editor of Europe 1.

Laurent Guimier will report directly to Alexandre Bompard.

Laurent Guimier, 37, the recipient of a Bourse Lauga, a grant awarded by Europe 1 to promising student journalists, began his career as an editor and reporter at Europe 1 in 1994, where he successively held the post of reporter for the general news, political affairs and social affairs departments before being appointed permanent correspondent for the Bordeaux-Aquitaine region.
In 2005, he returned to the editorial team in Paris as the Editorial Director of the Europe 1 morning show.
In October 2006, he became the Editorial Director of Figaro.fr, transforming it into France’s leading media website with 3.2 million unique visitors.
With the support of Etienne Mougeotte, he organized the first daily political programme: “Le Talk Orange – Figaro”.
