Mezzo increases its international audience

By the end of 2006, more than 13.5 million European households subscribed to Mezzo, and the channel had recorded strong growth outside France.
Indeed, Mezzo has greatly increased its international audience, with more than 11 million non-French households subscribing to the channel as of 31 December 2006. Over the last quarter of 2006, the channel recorded 268,000 new subscriptions from households outside France, an increase of 2.5%. Compared with 2005, Mezzo has significantly boosted its audience abroad with a rise of 25%, representing 2 million new households in one year.
More than 11.1 million households outside France now watch Mezzo in over 37 countries, and the channel is gearing up to win new markets in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Ukraine, Serbia, Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Malta, Portugal and Turkey.
Lagardère Networks International, a Lagardère Active Media subsidiary, represents the channel outside France.
Mezzo is distributed to more than 2.4 million households throughout France. The channel is included in two French satellite packages, CanalSat and TPS, via cable and broadband.
