Mezzo Live HD available in Israel as of today

Mezzo Live HD is arriving in Israel today, Monday 5 December, via the HOT cable networks.

Israel is now the 14^th country to broadcast the Lagardère Active premium classical and jazz channel, after France, Russia, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Moldavia and Switzerland.
Mezzo Live HD will be picked up by the operator’s “Musique HD” package and distributed over HOT’s cable networks to nearly a million subscribing households.
Mezzo (SD) was already available in Israel via the HOT platform and the Yes satellite package, with 1.4 million households subscribing.
These new subscribers will join the 17 million households worldwide who will, by tuning in to Mezzo Live HD and Mezzo in December and January, be able to enjoy three celebrated productions, chosen by subscribers for the Opera of the Year programme from among the 12 most influential shows on the international opera scene and broadcast by the two channels in 2011 (Wagner’s Valkyrie at Milan’s La Scala; Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at the Amsterdam Opera; Lully’s Atys at Paris’ Opéra Comique; Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso at Paris’ Théâtre des Champs Elysées; Handel’s Alcina at the Vienna Opera; Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias at the Lyon Opera; Weill’s Mahagonny at Madrid’s Teatro Real; Berg’s Lulu at Barcelona’s Liceo; Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito in Aix; Handel’s Giulio Cesare at the Paris Opera; Britten’s Billy Budd at Glyndebourne; and Massenet’s Le Cid at the Marseille Opera).
