Relay, the new international brand of Hachette Distribution Services, sets up in its 11th country : Portugal

SGEL, the Spanish branch of the Hachette Distribution Services (HDS) group, has just won a tender in Portugal and will open five Relay shops in Lisbon, Porto and Faro airports.

Following an international tender, SGEL (Sociedad General Española de Libreria) has just been chosen to operate five stores in the three biggest Portuguese airports: Lisbon (1 shop), Porto (2 shops) and Faro (2 shops).

With an average surface area of 50 sq. m., these stores will be modernized according to the Relay brand in the coming months. The five Relay shops will offer a wide choice of Portuguese and international press, books and items for travelers.

Two months after the launch of Relay, these new developments show the dynamism of the new brand of the HDS group internationally. This new set up in Southern Europe follows the signature, at the beginning of January 2000 in the United States, of a contract for the operation of 11 shops located at Newark International Airport (NJ, United States).

With more than 1,000 shops in 11 countries (Europe and North America), Relay’s mission is to make each trip, whether a daily commute or an international flight, more enjoyable, by offering travelers reading and leisure products.
