Dès que possibleIn the context of a global reorganization, we are creating a new Group Operational Excellence Department, with the overall objective to drive top- and bottom-line store performance by continuously improving in-store execution leveraging internal and external expertise and innovation, support openings or distressed operations to foster profitable expansion.
This new department will include four teams:
- Store solutions
- Supply Chain, Loss Prevention and transversal projects management
- Operational quality
- Indirect purchasing
The purpose of the Operational quality pole will be to strengthen Group field standards and tools as well as field support provided to countries, to continuously improve in-store execution in all businesses operated, including:
- 360° support (first level) for openings and distressed shops + operational standards and audits (incl. Hygiene & Food Safety)
- Boost Impact Of People In Store (BIOPIS) incl. strengthening training tools and programs for operational teams
- Specific projects management such as Staff network tool, Light Kitchen… (TBC)
This position will be a great opportunity to:
- Participate to the creation of a new department and function within the Group, having a great impact on Group performance
- Build a new team and shape / lead its roadmap from scratch, bringing his/her own vision to the Group’s operational standards with big room to play
- Be greatly exposed to top management, all Businesses and all countries (scope all BLs, all regions)
- Manage a variety of challenging projects and topics
MAIN MISSIONS
In this context, the Director of Operational Quality pole responsibilities will be the following:
- Organize the team, define and lead the roadmap, objectives and strategic projects for the pole, taking into account countries’ needs in terms of support, Group’s ambitions to improve operational standards, market inputs… ensure coordination with the rest of the department and more broadly central teams
- Lead the definition and efficient roll out of Group operational standards and quality tools / processes for all businesses operated (excl. Fashion), in an efficient manner taking into account variety of operations and local organization within the Group
- Manage a team of operations managers in the day to day: organize support and interactions with countries, make sure needs are well covered and addressed
- On some occasions, directly support countries for field issues and projects, with a hands-on and field approach
- Ensure projects of the pole are delivered on time, in line with objective and expected quality; manage communication and information for countries; manage regular reporting to COPO and more generally EXCOM
PROFILE
Having trained as a Master in Management or Engineering, you will ideally have :
- Min 10 years of professional experience
- Experience in Retail Operations and Operational quality (audits, standard procedures definition, operational action plan definition…) – preferably in Duty Free, Foodservice, Travel Essentials or several of these
- Field/store experience highly appreciated
- Team management experience mandatory
- International experience would a plus
Status :
- Long-term contract
- Beginning asap
Mobility :
- Based in Levallois-Perret (Paris area)
- Regular trips abroad

- Good communication and interpersonal skills: sense of service, capacity to create the link between and coordinate various interlocutors with different expertise / background / hierarchical levels; diplomacy
- Management and team animation skills, including junior and more senior profiles
- Synthesis skills – oral and written; ability to document operating standards in a digest and practical manner, adapted for operational teams
Technical skills :
- Project management: organization, coordination, prioritization...
- Microsoft Pack Office (esp. Excel et PowerPoint)
- Fluent or native English (spoken and written); French is a plus; other languages are a plus
- Analytical skills
